The All-on-4® treatment concept: A two-decade evolution

Dr - male Sundeep Rawal

When Dr. Paulo Maló took the stage at Nobel Biocare EAO 2013 — the 15th anniversary of the first placement using the All-on-4® treatment concept — the doctor repeated a question he had heard from other clinicians: “Why did it take so long?” At this point in time, the All-on-4® treatment concept was just starting to become commonplace in the United States. Dr. Maló gave context to the innovation of the All-on-4® treatment concept, especially subperiosteal implants, which often required anywhere from 6 to 18 implants to support a full-arch rehabilitation. Digital innovations and guided surgical protocols continue to make the All-on-4® treatment concept accessible to more clinicians and patients.

With the introduction of the Ultra All-on-4™ solution and its focus on tissue integration, we want clinicians to ask that same question: “What took so long?” To answer that question and bring others up to speed on related topics, world-renowned prosthodontist, educator, and founder of the Digital Dentistry Institute, Dr. Sundeep Rawal, is hosting a discussion on the All-on-4® treatment concept.

Join the conversation

Nobel Biocare invites you to join a live interview with Dr. Sundeep Rawal. Dr. Rawal will take you through the advancements of the All-on-4® treatment concept since 1998 and what new innovations he is using to make the procedure more financially feasible and efficient, thereby making this life-changing procedure more available to clinicians and patients.

The importance of implant-abutment interface: long-term stability and clinical success

Dr Giacomo Fabbri
Prosthetic treatment plans should ideally integrate esthetics, biologics and functional requirements for natural teeth and implants. In the case of implants, prosthetic treatment is usually more challenging due to the inevitable changes in soft tissue after tooth extraction. Soft tissue healing and management must be considered to achieve excellent outcomes. Prosthetic components assume an essential role in integration and the simultaneous achievement of reliable and stable results. Clinical situations require specific evaluations in terms of implant connection, prosthetic components, and restorative materials and approaches. Biological integration and stability around implants can be significantly influenced by the correct use of modern prosthetic components. The use of non-removable components allows for ideal soft tissue healing and management around the implant and provides significant advantages from biological, biomechanical, and clinical point of views. The Nobel Biocare On1™ concept offers an undisturbed mucosal seal with advantages for surgeons and restorative clinicians. It provides surgical flexibility and soft tissue biocompatibility and a simplified restorative workflow.
